The KTM X-Bow GT4 combines a lightweight chassis with high levels of aerodynamic grip, placing unique demands on the steering system. Hydroline was involved in the development and optimisation of the steering system, focusing on steering feel, hydraulic performance and long-term reliability under racing conditions.
Development work included component selection, hydraulic system optimisation, steering ratio evaluation, track testing and system validation. Particular attention was given to maintaining consistent steering characteristics throughout a race, regardless of temperature, tyre condition or track demands.
In motorsport, reliability is just as important as performance. A steering system must not only feel right when the car leaves the pit lane, but continue to perform lap after lap under the harsh conditions of competitive racing.
