Megane World Series Steering
The Renault Mégane Trophy was one of the most distinctive race cars of its era. Developed specifically for the World Series by Renault championship, it combined prototype-like performance with a highly competitive one-make racing format.
A race car capable of generating this level of grip and performance places exceptional demands on its steering system. Precision, consistency and driver confidence are critical. The steering must remain predictable under heavy braking, aggressive cornering and prolonged race conditions.
Hydroline was involved in the development and optimisation of the hydraulic steering system, with particular focus on steering feel, hydraulic performance and long-term reliability.
Development work included system evaluation, hydraulic optimisation, component testing and track validation. The objective was to achieve a steering system that delivered accurate feedback while maintaining consistency throughout a race weekend.
In motorsport, the steering system is one of the driver’s primary connections to the car. Small improvements in feedback and precision can translate directly into improved confidence and lap times.
