Woodward 201 – .750″-20 Spline
The Woodward 201 connection is Woodward’s .750″-20 spline profile and is used throughout a range of Woodward professional steering components.
Because spline compatibility depends on more than nominal diameter and tooth count, the Woodward connection number should always be checked when selecting a replacement U-joint.
A generic .750″-20 spline should therefore not automatically be assumed to be compatible with Woodward profile 201.
Woodward 101 – .750″ 48-Tooth Spline
The opposite side of the UA201101 uses the Woodward 101 connection, featuring a .750″ nominal diameter with 48 teeth.
The fine 48-tooth spline provides an accurate mechanical connection and allows the UA201101 to interface directly with components using the Woodward 101 profile.
Always verify both the spline dimensions and Woodward connection number before installation.

Operating Angle
The UA201101 can accommodate angular misalignment up to 32 degrees, although a normal operating angle of less than 20 degrees is recommended.
Keeping the steering U-joint operating angle as small as practical helps minimise angular velocity variation and provides smoother steering shaft operation.
Where the steering layout requires a substantial change in direction, the use of an intermediate shaft and additional U-joint may provide a better solution.
