Woodward 201 – .750″-20 Spline
The Woodward 201 connection uses Woodward’s .750″-20 spline profile. This connection is found throughout the Woodward professional steering range.
When selecting a U-joint, do not rely on diameter and tooth count alone. Spline geometry is equally important, and a generic .750″-20 spline should not automatically be assumed to fit a Woodward 201 connection.
Woodward 102 – .735″-36 Spline
The second side of the UA201102 features the Woodward 102 connection, with a nominal diameter of .735″ and 36 splines.
This allows the UA201102 to connect a Woodward 201 steering component directly to a shaft or steering component using the corresponding 102 spline profile, without requiring an additional spline adapter.
For correct fitment, always verify the shaft diameter, spline count and spline profile before ordering.

Operating Angle
The Woodward UA201102 allows a maximum angular misalignment of 32°. For normal operation, an angle of less than 20° is recommended.
A smaller working angle helps reduce velocity variation through the universal joint and provides smoother steering operation.
Where a steering shaft needs to negotiate a larger offset or change of direction, using two U-joints with an intermediate steering shaft may provide a better steering geometry than operating a single joint close to its maximum angle.
